Axera appeared at the CMS Industry Summit Forum, where its Aixin Zhimo AI-ISP industry solution attracted significant attention.
Recently, the Electronic Rearview Mirror CMS Industry Chain and Process Technology Summit Forum was held in Shenzhen. Axera, a leading enterprise in R&D of artificial intelligence visual perception chips and development of basic computing power platforms, made an appearance at the main forum. Huang Huiwei, Director of Automotive Market at Axera, brought the latest insights and achievements for the innovative development of the industry with the company’s new AI-ISP CMS solution. Huang Huiwei, Director of Automotive Market at Axera At present, the electronic exterior rearview mirror industry is booming with the tide of intelligent vehicles, and it has attracted unprecedented attention for its characteristics such as image enhancement in extreme environments, blind spot reduction, wind resistance reduction and lightweight design. However, the CMS industry is also facing numerous challenges in its initial development stage. Huang Huiwei shared that currently, issues such as the safety and reliability of systems, user experience effects and supply chain cooperation are all affecting the industrial development of CMS. In particular, as a high-end intelligent application product, CMS places extra emphasis on user experience besides safety and reliability. How to ensure user experience – such as image latency, startup time and image effects in harsh scenarios – are all tough problems that supply chain manufacturers need to solve. Axera’s SoC with a built-in AI-ISP can provide the CMS market with a safe, reliable solution that delivers an excellent user experience. At the forum, Axera showcased its CMS solution based on the M55H series chips. According to the introduction, the solution demonstrates outstanding performance in terms of safety, performance, functional integrity and intelligent scalability. In terms of safety, the M55H has passed the AEC-Q100 Grade 2 certification and meets the reliability test requirements such as high and low temperature resistance; its system design complies with functional safety requirements to realize end-to-end video stream detection; additionally, the M55H chip has been mass-produced and installed on vehicles, further ensuring its safety. In terms of performance, the M55H achieves ultra-fast startup through system tailoring and optimization as well as algorithm compression; meanwhile, benefiting from Axera’s proprietary Aixin Zhimou® AI-ISP technical architecture, it can realize an image latency of less than 60ms while delivering AI-powered image enhancement effects. In terms of functions, the M55H provides a comprehensive field of view adjustment SDK to support secondary development by users; it supports layer superposition through a dedicated hardware IP without additional latency; in addition, it is equipped with a DPU to support functions such as screen color calibration. In terms of intelligent scalability, the M55H features abundant computing power to support the expansion of various intelligent algorithms such as stain detection and BSD, and can meet more potential demands in the future. Notably, compared with other solutions, Axera’s M55H-based CMS solution delivers superior image quality, especially in applications such as low light, HDR, glare suppression and purple fringing removal, bringing an excellent experience to users. The strong performance of the M55H stems from Axera’s pioneering Aixin Zhimou® AI-ISP technology. Compared with traditional ISP, Aixin Zhimou® AI-ISP not only conducts refined modeling of sensor characteristics and optimizes image processing strategies to the extreme, but also fully leverages the data-driven characteristics of AI algorithms to improve image effects through non-linear processing of deep networks and sample learning, making it a leader in architectural design and algorithms. At present, the algorithm has been upgraded to the third generation and can be custom-developed for image enhancement targeting CMS scenarios. In addition, Axera’s tuning tools have become increasingly mature after years of application, helping customers achieve rapid debugging and implementation for different vehicle models. With its safety, reliability and strong performance, Axera’s CMS solution is gaining increasing favor from more customers. It is reported that Axera’s automotive-grade products have been launched into the market since 2022. In addition to CMS, the product applications also cover other segmented fields such as automotive front-view all-in-ones, single-SoC parallel full-time parking and driving integrated domain controllers, and DMS/OMS, helping customers realize the rapid implementation of the latest technologies. Founded in 2019, Axera is committed to building a world-leading mobile intelligent chip enterprise. Up to now, the company has forged two core technological advantages: Aixin Zhimou® AI-ISP and hybrid precision NPU. It empowers the intelligent driving field with leading AI capabilities and has become an important force for the high-quality development of the industry.
