Recently, to further promote industry-university integration and boost the future development of the semiconductor industry, Axera held a unique "Enterprise Open Day" event. Students from Weiyang College and the School of Integrated Circuits of Tsinghua University, as well as representatives from the Integrated Circuit Platform of Tsinghua University Shanghai International Innovation Center, visited Axera. They conducted in-depth exchanges with Dr. Qiu Xiaoxin, Founder, Chairperson and CEO of Axera, and the company's technical experts, and shared insights on the chip industry together.

Step into Axera, Talk with Axera

At the start of the event, as the leader of Axera and an alumna of Tsinghua University, Dr. Qiu Xiaoxin introduced the company's development philosophy, technological products, application implementation and other relevant information to the visiting Tsinghua students.

"Since its establishment in 2019, Axera has focused on building world-leading artificial intelligence perception and edge computing chips. Axera Smart Vision AI-ISP and Axera Smart Compute mixed-precision NPU are our two core technologies. Up to now, Axera has completed the R&D and mass production of four generations of multiple intelligent chip products, and has gradually implemented its solutions in three major markets: smart cities, intelligent driving and AIoT," said Dr. Qiu. "Technology is merely technology; it only becomes meaningful when it is implemented in products and delivers value to customers. Only the intelligence that is accessible to people is real intelligence. And Axera's mission is to democratize AI for a better life."

During the presentation, the students raised a host of questions regarding Axera's track selection, core technology R&D, product implementation, as well as the career prospects of the industry. Dr. Qiu answered their questions and offered valuable suggestions in response. She noted that cloud and edge intelligence each have their own advantages, but with the development of the semiconductor industry and the integration of large models and big data, higher requirements have been put forward for the real-time performance, reliability, privacy protection and security of computing power. Deploying intelligence at the edge and end sides conforms to the development direction of artificial intelligence, and this is also the direction Axera has set its sights on. The ability of lifelong learning, in-depth understanding of the industry, and accurate grasp of technological trends are the core competencies for those who intend to pursue employment or entrepreneurship in the intelligent chip industry in the future.

In the subsequent session, the students visited Axera's "Black Light Lab" in person, had a close encounter with Axera's Black Light Full Color Technology, and experienced the product advantage of "turning night into day". They also held more in-depth discussions and exchanges with Axera's technical experts in groups on the topics they cared about.

Industry-University Collaboration, Create the Future Together

The Tsinghua students also shared their feelings about this Open Day event: "It's a great honor for us to come to Axera for learning today, and to communicate with Ms. Qiu and Axera's engineers, as well as to visit the Black Light Lab. We have gained a certain understanding of Axera's core technologies and Ms. Qiu's entrepreneurial experience, and in particular, we have enhanced our cognition of Axera's industry-leading technologies such as Axera Smart Vision AI-ISP and Axera Smart Compute mixed-precision NPU, and experienced how technology influences and improves people's lives."

"During the entire visit and exchange, what left the deepest impression on me is Ms. Qiu's narration of the corporate mission and vision. This goal of 'democratization' can not only enhance the cohesion of the enterprise, but also reflect the sense of responsibility and national sentiment of a series of enterprises represented by Axera that strive to benefit the people."
