Axera AX620E/AX650 Series Chips Pass PSA Certified Security Certification
Background
In the era of interconnected everything, security has become a fundamental requirement for IoT product design and deployment. Recently, Axera's AX620E and AX650 series chips (including AX630C/AX620Q/AX650A/AX650N) have officially passed the PSA Certified Level 1 security certification, indicating that these products have internationally recognized reliable security features and can meet market trust requirements.

PSA Certified is an IoT security framework and certification program designed to accelerate and enable cross-industry collaboration needed to fulfill the potential of IoT. The program was jointly initiated by seven founding companies including Arm, as well as independent security testing laboratories and consulting organizations such as SGS Brightsight, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Riscure, UL Prove&Run, and TrustCB. Its purpose is to standardize the security and authenticity of IoT chips, software, and devices, further enabling large-scale deployment of security IoT solutions based on the PSA Certified framework, and uniting ecosystem forces on a common standard.

According to certification information, Axera's AX620E series is a high-performance AI vision processor for IPC and other intelligent vision applications, leading the industry in high image quality, intelligent processing, and analysis. This series of chips is equipped with an Arm® Cortex®-A53 dual-core processor and integrates the new generation AxeraVision 4.0 AI-ISP, supporting up to 4K@30fps real-time true black light. At the same time, this series of chips also integrates the new generation AxeraNeurons 4.0NPU engine, supporting mixed precision and various mainstream deep learning frameworks.
As a high-computing power, high-energy efficiency ratio SoC chip launched by Axera, the AX650 series integrates an octa-core Cortex-A55 CPU, a high-computing power mixed-precision NPU with a maximum of 72.0TOPs@INT4 or 18.0TOPs@INT8, and supports 8K@30fps AI-ISP, supporting various functions such as fixed noise elimination, dead pixel correction, vignetting compensation, image enhancement, digital de-fogging, and fisheye correction.
At the same time, the AX620E and AX650 series that have passed the PSA Certified Level 1 certification also have a powerful security subsystem supporting Arm TrustZone security isolation technology, firewall access control, encryption hardware accelerator, secure OTP, secure boot, and other functions, which can overcome a series of security threats during deployment and effectively respond to potential risks.
Wu Wei, Vice President of Smart IoT Business Unit, Axera said: "The AX620E and AX650 series passing the PSA Certified Level 1 certification represents Axera's product development strength to meet global high-level security requirements, and also demonstrates our commitment to IoT device security. In the future, Axera will continue to provide high-quality, secure and reliable chips to escort the secure development of the IoT industry."
David Maidment, Senior Director of Market Development, Arm said: "The rapid development of edge AI will continue to increase the priority of security for connected devices. PSA Certified has created a security design culture that builds security into every device. We are pleased to see that Axera's products have achieved the PSA Certified Level 1 security certification, further expanding the ecosystem of next-generation smart devices based on the root of trust."
Positioned as an AI vision chip R&D and basic computing power platform company, Axera has been focusing on developing high-performance, low-power artificial intelligence processor chips. Its self-developed four generations of multiple edge-side AI vision processing chips have been widely used in various business scenarios such as smart cities, intelligent driving, and smart IoT. Facing the increasingly severe IoT security challenges, Axera will also adhere to security as the foundation of chip design, helping customers implement products and services more securely and efficiently, and jointly building a safe and reliable intelligent IoT ecosystem.
