Continuous Mass Production Breakthrough! Multiple GAC Aion Models to Feature Axera's Intelligent Driving Chips

On May 29, 2024, "Axera Auto", the automotive business brand of AI chip innovation company Axera, announced a series of ADAS project collaborations with GAC Aion. GAC Aion will adopt the high-performance ADAS chip M55H of "Axera Auto" in its intelligent driving system, and plans to carry out mass production and vehicle installation on a number of new models. The first cooperative model of the two parties is expected to enter mass production in the second quarter of this year.

M55H is the first intelligent driving chip of "Axera Auto", and also the fastest intelligent driving chip in the industry to realize large-scale mass production and implementation. Benefiting from Axera's mature experience in AI chip R&D and mass production, M55H has built-in two original hardcore technologies — AxeraVision AI-ISP image processing technology and AxeraNeurons hybrid-precision NPU empowering intelligent driving perception, with outstanding comprehensive performance. In 2023, it has been mass-produced and installed on two best-selling models of new power automakers, and its shipment volume ranks among the forefront in the domestic intelligent driving chip field.

M55H provides 8 TOPS of computing power, featuring low power consumption, high cost performance, maturity and reliability, safety and ease of use. It is suitable for a variety of application scenarios, including ADAS front-view all-in-one machines, CMS (Camera Monitor System), DMS (Driver Monitoring System) and OMS (Occupant Monitoring System).

To support the development of the intelligent driving system for GAC Aion's new models, matching the M55H chip, "Axera Auto" will also provide customers with supporting efficient and easy-to-use toolchains and rich software development platforms to meet the diverse needs of customers.

It is believed that with the joint efforts of both parties, the high-performance, cost-effective, mature and stable chip Axera Auto M55H will subsequently support a number of GAC Aion models to achieve a leap in intelligent driving capabilities.
