Axera Charts New Course in Edge AI Inference, Partnering with Ecosystem

Release time:2025-07-27

On July 27, 2025, in Shanghai, Axera made a significant announcement of its  Edge AI Inference strategy at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (2025 WAIC). The exhibition brought together industry elites who witnessed Axera’s innovative approach to integrating Edge AI Inference and AI, mapping out a new vision for bringing AI benefits to everyday life.

Dr. QIU Xiaoxin, Founder and Chairperson of Axera, noted that AI stands at a pivotal moment as it transitions from technology to real-world products that have a profound impact on daily life. Yet, widespread AI adoption continues to face significant challenges, including cost, real-time processing, and data privacy. Against this backdrop, building integrated cloud-edge-device infrastructure has become essential, with applications like smart vehicle and smart homes driving growing demand for intelligence at the edge and device level.

“As an AI chip platform company for edge and terminal applications, Axera understands the critical importance of industry collaboration. We are committed to delivering cost-effective AI chips while using standardized development tools and algorithm optimization frameworks to lower technical barriers for our partners. We aim to work alongside ecosystem partners in building an ‘Edge Intelligence Community’ that advances the Edge AI Inference industry, enables large-scale intelligent technology deployment across sectors, and ultimately brings AI into every home,” said Dr. Qiu. “Axera is democratizing AI through a flywheel effect across technology, products, ecosystem, and applications. This positive feedback loop will continue reducing barriers to AI adoption, ultimately creating a future where intelligence is everywhere.”

Looking ahead, as edge intelligence evolves, hardware-software collaboration becomes essential. Dr. Guohao Dai, Co-founder of Infinigence AI, noted that edge and terminal intelligence represent core scenarios for future human-machine interaction, particularly showing tremendous potential in robotics applications for healthcare and elderly care. He explained that Infinigence AI has launched a comprehensive terminal-side intelligent product suite, including language model architecture optimized for device native deployment, the Mizar inference engine, and LPU processor IP, partnering with Axera to address terminal-side inference challenges and provide commercialization support for vertical markets. The company will continue deepening its “chip-model-software” collaborative innovation with Axera, positioning edge intelligence as the central bridge connecting digital intelligence with the physical world.

For AI solution deployment, a deep understanding of industry pain points is crucial. Mr. Yi Zhao, Vice President of MC Product Management at Fibocom, emphasized that AI deployment must begin with industry needs, focusing on aligning product capabilities with specific use cases. “Fibocom’s collaboration with Axera in terminal-side AI, particularly for unmanned retail solutions, has achieved cost-effective, high-performance deployment through Axera’s chip platforms. Our solution encompasses visual recognition, large language models, and customer behavior analytics, creating a complete loop from demand forecasting to execution.” He expressed enthusiasm for expanding terminal-side intelligent deployment with Axera across more scenarios.

Business model innovation drives the dual engines of technology and commerce. Jimmy Lai, Founder and CEO of M5Stack, explained that M5Stack initially set out to provide modular, standardized components for rapid deployment while reducing customer costs. Today, the company has evolved into an enterprise delivering efficient IoT development solutions, with new product releases every Friday to sustain innovation momentum. Notably, M5Stack and Axera have co-developed and launched multiple products that not only address diverse customer requirements but also showcase both companies’ strengths in technological innovation.

The convergence of audio algorithms and AI creates cross-industry innovation opportunities. Ms. Ji An, Founder of Shanghai Lingjing Acoustics Technology Co., Ltd., explained that Lingjing Acoustics and Axera co-developed the Lingjing Umix AI, a panoramic sound industry-specific large model for multi-scenario applications, addressing the pain points of limited panoramic sound content and poor scenario alignment. The solution delivers 7.1-9.3.6 unlimited panoramic sound content with deep scenario adaptation across automotive audio, hospitality audio, smart homes, and other sectors, demonstrating significant potential in edge computing. Powered by Axera AI chips and leveraging the computing capabilities of AXNeutron mixed precision NPU, Lingjing Umix AI achieves autonomous breakthroughs in key industry segments through cost-effective AI solutions, substantially reducing brand partnership and technology development costs while effectively overcoming content resource constraints inherent in traditional models.

Since its establishment, Axera has been dedicated to AI chip development for edge and terminal applications, leveraging forward-looking strategic positioning to secure a leading position in industry deployment. The launch of Axera’s Edge AI Inference business line marks the company’s official entry into a new phase of edge intelligence. Moving forward, Axera will continue with AI chips as its core, working with ecosystem partners to build an edge intelligence community, promoting AI democratization, defining the future with intelligence, and writing new chapters with technology.
